I'm sorry that we have not updated the site for such a long time. I've been getting your emails about it and I've updated today with a new dress of the day and a new random page.
My sisters and I have been performing a lot this summer so we haven't really had the time to update the website, let alone play dolls for enough time to generate new stories.
However, things are slowing down and the dolls have now been to Proper School twice, and are working on making their uniforms in sewing class, and refining their recipe skills in cooking class.
Alexandra Chen is frantically glueing together menus and cookbooks, making gold tassels and sewing chef hats and aprons for Mei Mei and Vera so she can get her new Chinese restaurant up and running in town square. She hopes to open the restaurant for business this week, and she has already reserved all the seats in the building for her opening night celebration.
Mei Mei and Vera can't wait to get started in the kitchen, although Vera seems a little bit more excited about throwing skillets around than actually cooking anything.
There are still lots of updates for coming up for this site, never fear! And now that the summer months are wrapping up, I will have more time to put them up. Thanks for your patience!

We finally have it! The photo story from the Parkington's Easter Ball. It's been a long time in coming, but here are all the pictures and stories. There were many beautiful ballgowns present, as well as Mrs. Fox, who stirred things up quite a bit.
I hope you enjoy this photo story, and sorry for the wait.

Alex's Chinese restaurant, Bamboo Terrace, finally opened last night to grand acclaim from everyone in Pleasantville. Suzanne, Cristal, Sonja and their families made a reservation for the opening night several months ago, so they were the first ones let inside the restaurant. Elinor gave them all deep red silk tasseled menus, and they took their seats around the low table inside the building that used to be Violet's Clothes Boutique.
Alex has transformed it into a beautiful, atmospheric space, with Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling, palm trees and fish in fish bowls, little Buddhas and Chinese landscapes lining the walls. The entrance to the kitchen is artfully covered with a black screen decorated with gold line drawings of mountains, fish and birds.
Alex came up to the table wearing a beautiful black gown and took their order. While they sipped serenely on the rose hip tea that she brought them, they relaxed in knowing that they would be able to eat without working very hard! This was an amazing feeling for Suzanne, who always has to cook food for herself, her family, and even her boss, Mrs. Fox.
In the kitchen, Mei Mei and Vera waited for their first order so eagerly that you would have thought they were waiting to pounce on a new Chow-Ping doll. They grabbed the order and set to work on their two seperate stoves, tossing ingredients in the air with their sizzling skillets and jabbering about soy sauce and Chinese spicy noodles.
Sooner than anyone expected, the beautiful dishes of food were carried into the dining room by Alex where they gained a collective "ooh" and "aaah" from the waiting customers.
All in all, it has been a great success, and Alex is booked for reservations well into next week.

The dolls of Pleasantville are very busy people, as you well know, and that is mostly because all of them have chores and jobs that they have to do, as well as going to their many social events.
I have put a new section on the website called Doll Jobs. This is going to hold lots of pictures and descriptions of exactly what it is that each doll does to keep the community running smoothly. Whether it is collecting the food for the foodstand, ironing laundry for the Parkingtons, or even arresting ladies who are too eager to buy fabric and therefore jump through shop windows, there is always something to do. Please bear with me if this section is slow to update, because it takes a lot of time to take these pictures. However, the very first one is up, and it is the Larson's food stand!
Head on over there to discover exactly how the food stand works, and how the Larsons do everything!
August 20th, 2008
I have added FIVE new items to Violet's Clothes Boutique. Head on over there to see some additions to the Parkington and Larson clothing sections.
There are also a few Merriman dresses still available.
I have also added some great instructions done by Willow on how to make doll-sized postage stamps to put on your doll envelopes. Check it out on the Doll Crafts page.
August 21st, 2008
Alex's fine Chinese Restaurant has only been open for a week, but it is already the center of Pleasantville's social life, since everyone spends so much time standing in line together waiting for the chance to get a reservation!
You are invited to see inside at the restaurant in our new "Doll Jobs" feature. Here it is: Bamboo Terrace Chinese Restaurant.

I am very excited to announce our newest Website contest. It is not a website treasure hunt this time, although I am planning to keep those up. This one is a bigger contest and there will be a prize.
Head on over to the contests page to check out the rules. You have until November 1st to send in your contest entries and then you will be able to help vote for the finalists!
Let's get started!
August 24th, 2008
We have two different related updates today. First of all, I am adding the Curandera to the Doll Jobs page, where you can read all about Josefina and her remedies that help the town stay on it's feet.
Also added to the Remedies page, is Fractured Bones, where we will see Kirsten and her annoyance over breaking her arm doing something that is definitely not considered dangerous, which lowers her self-esteem somewhat. You know how it gets.
Remember to start working on your Lemonade Stand picture and send it to us at email@example.com with the subject line photo contest. All of the information is on the Contests page.
Also, stay tuned for the next Website Treasure Hunt. I will post the thirty new questions for September on Saturday, August 30th. Get your searching skills ready!
August 29th, 2008
John and Suzanne Wickon live very comfortably in a nice apartment in Town Square. They both work for the wealthy Mrs. Lavendar Fox; Suzanne as a cook, and John as a bodygaurd and manservant. But in order to keep his family in a comfortable financial state, John Wickon is also Police Chief of Pleasantville.
Working closely with Governor Merriman (although they sometimes don't agree on everything at first), General John Wickon keeps Pleasantville clean and free of crime. He is also in charge of punishing those who break the laws that he upholds.
So today I have added a new feature to our "Doll Jobs" page. Read all about John Wickon and his tactics in the new job:
Pleasantville Police, Law, and Jail.
Enjoy, and leave your comments on the message board! For those of you who would like to join our little message board community, anyone is allowed to post messages and participate. The only thing you need to know is that the password to post your thoughts is nancymerriman. Message away!
ALSO - stay tuned and be ready for the Website Treasure Hunt tomorrow. I will be posting the 30 new questions for September on the website tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM, West-Coast time, which means it will be 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Set your clocks and be ready to send me your correct answers the quickest! The winner will receive the next episode of Nafy and Elizabeth V News.
August 30th, 2008
The new treasure hunt questions are now up on the contest page! I'm setting you all loose to come up with the answers. They are all here on this website, somewhere. Now all you need to do is find the answers and email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. GO!
August 31st, 2008
On the last day of August the winner is..... Sarah Cooper! Sarah sent all the answers in extremely quickly, and all of them were right. She will be receiving a free episode of the doll radio station, Nafy and Elizabeth V News.
I'm adding another important business to the doll jobs page today. This is the Montoya's Laundry Service. The Montoyas take all of the dirty clothes in Pleasantville and wash it in order to earn a living. It is a very organized and efficient business. Check it out here.
September 1st, 2008
Happy September, and happy Labor Day! Also, in Pleasantville, we must say happy birthday to Suzanna Wilson, who loves how her birthday often coincides with the beginning of the school year since she loves school.
All of the ladies are currently at the Sewing Circle meeting at the Merriman's house on Bluebell Way this afternoon. They are finally getting started on all the projects that they have each been planning, and talking about the latest events in Pleasantville.
They read several articles from the Pleasantville Gazette aloud, including the new issue that was just released and can be viewed on the website here. They also read excerpts from Suzanna's newest publication, the "Pleasantville Lady." This is a magazine designed for the more fashionable ladies of Pleasantville, and includes fashion tips, the gossip column, and household management columns by Mrs. Merriman. That should be up on the website in a few days for you to enjoy.
In other announcements, September 1st means you have exactly two months to get your entry in for the Lemonade Stand photo contest. I have only received one picture so far, but I know there are quite a few more people determined to enter. You still have time, but make sure you get it in as soon as you've taken the picture so I have time to get it on the site before November 1st. Thanks!
September 5th, 2008
I have added lots of new pictures to the doll family pages, if you go and take a look at those in theTour of Pleasantville.
I also added some newer pictures of the Wilson and Chen's house to their page on the Doll Houses section.
We now have FOUR entries for the Lemonade Stand Contest, which is better but keep them coming! I love all these pictures that are coming in, they're great! Just remember, the most important requirement is that they look realistic.
Also, check out the conversations going on in our message boards on the guest book page. Everyone is allowed to post, you just have to use the password, which is nancymerriman.
Make sure to head over there to add your town to our new Doll Country directory that we're all putting together! It should be really cool when we're finished.
September 8th, 2008
I've added a new photo story, about a camping trip that Alexandra Chen and a few of her friends went on as an end-of-the-summer weekend trip.
I've also totally revamped the About Us page, since we are older now and have better pictures. There is a lot more information on the three of us on there, so go check it out!
We also now have FIVE entries for the Lemonade Stand Contest, so keep them coming! Also, please include your age and state with your entries so I can list those on the finished contest page.
September 13th, 2008
Today is the last day of doll dresses! I can't believe how long it took to get all of them up here, because I started adding one every day all the way back in April of this year. So head on over and see the final dress. I've decided to finish with Rebecca Parkington's beautiful new ballgown.
Keep those Lemonade Stand Photo entries coming!
September 16th, 2008
We have a new hairstyle for you today, from Cristal Purr herself. She finally settled into her newly re-modeled, re-wallpapered and re-decorated apartment and hair salon, and decided to start things out with a very extravagant hairstyle.
This one is much more difficult than any of the other hairstyles on the page at the moment, so you will need to have plenty of time and patience to figure it out. You can see the hairstyle here:
Victorian Coiled Bun
September 27th, 2008
The next website treasure hunt will tomorrow on Sunday, September 28th. I will post the questions at 8:00 AM Pacific time, which is 11 AM Eastern Standard Time. Make sure you are ready to take on this exciting challenge! The prize is a great recording of the doll radio station with lots of news, music, and gossip.
Coming up to the end of September here means that there is only one month left until the end of the Lemonade Stand contest. I have received 6 entries now, but if you want to be included in the contest, you need to send me your picture, name, age and state as soon as possible so I can continue putting the voting page together!
This is going to be a really fun contest.
September 28th, 2008
The treasure hunt clues are up on the contests page! Go check them out and start sending me your answers. Remember, the first person to answer all thirty questions right will win a free episode of Nafy and Elizabeth V, the doll radio station.
September 29th, 2008
News flash! A tornado has hit Pleasantville. It was predicted by Kaya, who noticed a difference in the wind and the reactions of the animals around her cave, but not everyone believed her. I will update more later, but everyone is currently trying to stuff all their belongings into their basements and lock down their shops.
I've just added a really cool little map to the guest book page where you can add your first name and city to a map so we can see where all our visitors are from. Please only list your first name though, since this is the internet and we would like to keep your identity safe. If you only put your first name, you'll be fine. If you have a doll town, list it's name along with your city.
October 8th, 2008
It's October now, and I've added a new voting section where you can help us decide on a doll"photo of the month" for October. This is partly to test out our voting system before the Lemonade Stand Photos are up, and partly as a new monthly feature on the site.
I also have the entries for the website treasure hunt contest, and I will be announcing the winner soon. Keep sending in your Lemonade Stand pictures! November 1st will be here before you know it! Thanks to everyone who has sent theirs in already.
October 11th, 2008
The winner of the October website treasure hunt is Melissa Whittaker! She was the first one to answer all thirty questions correctly and send them into our email account. She will receive an exclusive free episode of Nafy and Elizabeth V news. Congratulations!
October 23rd, 2008
You can see what I've just added at the top of this main page. Each of us (Willow, Solana and myself) are starting little blogs, which will serve as little news areas between stories on the main site. I want to try to keep this front page more doll-related, so the observations that WE make will be in those blogs. You can check them out at the top of the home page or right here:
These will be updated pretty often, since we will all three be doing them whenever we have something to add. You will also be able to comment on blog entries, which is a nice perk.
Also, for those of you who are wondering where the message board went, I moved it off of the guest book page and onto its very own page, titled "forums," which appears just below the guest book link on the navigation bar. So go and check those out and join in the fun discussions we're having over there!
Remember, the password is nancymerriman.
October 26th, 2008
Well this one took a long time to put together, but I finally have the whole story on the huge wind storm that hit Pleasantville a while ago. Peder finds a very interesting artifact in town square, and the entire adventure is told as a great yarn woven by Mr. Larson, who loves to tell stories to his children.
I hope you enjoy this latest photo story!
A Blustery Day
Check it out along with our other stories on our photo stories page.
October 28th, 2008
Just in time for Halloween and for the Masked Ball, I've added a new craft to our crafts page. This one will show you how to make a mask for your doll, as illustrated by the beautiful Samantha Parkington.
Remember to use your own personal creativity when you put together a mask for your doll! You can make them become whomever they want to be when they are wearing a mask.
Check out the new craft right here:
Also, we only have three days left in the Lemonade Stand Photo Contest, so if you haven't sent me your picture entry yet, now is your last chance!
Don't forget to be here on Saturday, November 1st to see the finalists and vote on your favorite entry. Also, there will be a new website treasure hunt published on that day as well.
And don't forget to cast your vote for the photo of the month for October! The winner will be revealed on October 31st, so vote away.
October 31st, 2008
Happy Halloween! All of the dolls are assembling their costumes and masks and getting ready for the weekends' festivities. Suzanne is frantically cooking a deluxe banquet in the Parkingtons' kitchen, and Bamboo Terrace is handling their largest catering order EVER.
Down at the Larson's house, Mr. Larson is hoisting his own costume onto his back and setting the flag flying. He's going to be a ship, complete with mast, sails, flag, and steering wheel. It'll be a good vessel for Peder to ride in, as he's going as a pirate.
Hopefully Kaya can get her dreadlocks done in time so she can romp along as Jack Sparrow.
I've now added the winning picture and the runner up to the website and put up the new pictures for November. So head on over there and add your vote!
Also, be here tomorrow for the new website treasure hunt and to see all of the Lemonade Stand Photo Contest finalists and vote for your favorite!
November 1st, 2008
The day is finally here! It is time to post all sixteen of your great Lemonade Stand Photo Contestpictures.
I received pictures up until the last minute; thanks for sending them in! You can find all of the pictures at the above link and will be able to vote for them. You can also check the contests page to see further information about the voting rounds and when the winner will be announced.
Also up today is the website treasure hunt for the month of November! Scroll down to the second item on the contests page for the Website Treasure Hunt! The first one to answer all of the questions correctly will win an episode of Nafy and Elizabeth V news.
The dolls all had a great time trick-or-treating at each others' houses last night, although several people (including Lisa and Cristal) ran out of candy and went to bed early, the rest of the families pitched in and made it a really enjoyable evening.
It was Peder's first Halloween and he bravely went up to every door and was lavished with candy by all of the supposedly scary people behind the costumes and lights. He giggled a lot and probably would've giggled more if his daddy hadn't made sure that his candy was safely hidden before he went to sleep.
While all of the kids were running around town yelling and laughing and knocking on doors, the adults were all putting together the final preparations for the Masked Ball tonight. All of the gowns are done, the masks are almost dry, and the majority of Pleasantville's fine ladies are at Cristal's hair salon getting their hair done for tonight's big event. Suzanne has even finished her huge feast, which promises to rival that of last year! Stay tuned for more coverage!
November 1st, 2008
The Masked Ball is just about to start in Pleasantville - the music is floating out over the square and all the families are getting into their masks and costumes (or leaving Cristal's hair salon to meet up with their families) and heading towards the grounds that have been transformed into a magic castle and fairy woods.
Cristal and Suzanne are frantically setting the tables and instructing the maids and hanging candles and lights and lanterns all over the forest while trying not to get their curls stuck in any leaves.
To celebrate the masked ball, I have a very special new update for you all:
Nafy and Elizabeth V News Covers the Masked Ball
This video is another news special that we made covering all of the preparation for the masked ball, with new interviews!
Plus, my favorite, an outtake that didn't make it into the actual news special but is very funny:
Nafy's Home Outtake
I hope you enjoy those videos and enjoy the rest of your weekend! Hopefully the videos will show you better what the atmosphere surrounding the ball is like better than words or pictures. Enjoy!
November 7th, 2008
The top five finalists are up on the Lemonade Stand Contest page! Head over there to vote for your favorite to win!
Our finalists are:
The Olson Family
Congratulations everybody, even if you didn't make the top five, I loved every single one of the entries. Good job!!
November 9th, 2008
...And the winner is... Rebecca Orlando!!
Congratulations on the winning picture for the Lemonade Stand Contest. Everyone had such wonderful pictures, and the voting was very close for our finalists, but Rebecca was the clear winner.
Head on over to the Lemonade Stand page to see her winning photo. Also, the information on the next photo contest is up and how to enter it!
Also, congratulations to Phoebe, who won the November website treasure hunt! She sent in all the answers to my 30 questions and will be receiving a free episode of Nafy and Elizabeth V News.
November 17th, 2008
I just added fall-themed pictures to the doll houses pages for the Larson's farm, the Purr and Wickon Apartments, and Angelica's House.
November 18th, 2008
Take a look at the Doll Letters page; I've just added a few new letters to quite a few correspondences. The new ones are marked with bright red "new!" flags so you know which ones to look at.
November 19th, 2008
I've been snapping a ton of pictures lately, and now I have the pictures up for Autumn at theMontoyas' Rancho, and also at the Merriman's House! You can go check both of those out, as well as the completed pictures for the Parkington Mansion, on the The Houses page.
I've also added pictures of the prize I just sent down to Rebecca Orlando for winning the Lemonade Stand Photo contest. You can check them out in my (Greta's) blog, which is at the top of this page.
November 25th, 2008
Since Autumn is almost coming to a close and Winter is on the brink of beginning here, I've added the last few doll house pictures to the page. There are Autumn pictures for the Wilson's and Chen's Apartment, as well as pictures for two entirely new dollhouses that you haven't seen yet: the DeVecamont Sisters' Apartment, and Megan, Alison and Rose's Apartment.
I hope you enjoy the new pictures, new doll houses and new descriptions!
Also just a reminder- the Holiday Photo Contest deadline is December 10th. That gives you exactly two weeks to send me your entry! I can't wait to see some more of them - the ones I've recieved are very good.
November 30th, 2008
All of the dolls are putting away their fall decorations and getting out their Christmas ones. It is the time of year again that Nafy and Elizabeth V News is playing Christmas music through everyone's radios as they unwrap shiny ornaments and cut out paper snowflakes to decorate their windows and hallways.
The Parkingtons are happily decorating their five trees in different color schemes. They are very grateful for their chance to finally leave their house set up during Christmas since we usually have to move their house for the Nutcracker, which we don't have time to do this year.
Yesterday Teresa invited Rachel over, and the two of them spent hours in the kitchen baking gingerbread cookies, cutting out paper snowflakes, making clove balls and cranberry garlands to decorate the kitchen with, and setting up a Christmas tree for the servants on the kitchen table. They sang along to the Christmas music on the radio and chatted about the latest news with their dolls and how their seperate Thanksgiving dinners went.
I've updated most of the doll houses pages to reflect the change in seasons - the Merrimans,Larsons, Purrs and Wickons, Wilsons and Chens, and Romanakovs pages all have their Christmas decorations up now!
Also, I've added a new fun interactive quiz to the contests page. Enjoy the quiz and test your knowledge of OUR DOLLS. Do your very best to get your name on the wall of fame!
December 3rd, 2008
Happy holidays! I have posted a new video to reflect the new holiday season. It is a clip from our movie, Pumpkins and Candy Canes. We made it way back in 2000 when we were still in our old house. I hope you enjoy the clip! Here it is:
December 10th, 2008
OK, two new things to vote on are up on the site! The entries for our Holiday Photo Contest 2008 are officially up on the contests page, and you can head on over there to vote for your favorite.
Remember, take your time and make sure you pick the best photo in your opinion. Please do not vote for yourself, if you entered.
Also, I made a mistake with the deadline, so if anyone was planning to send their picture in to me today, you can still do that and I will add it to the page. Sorry about that. Today is the last day that you can send me your entries.
Also, you can vote on the Our Dolls photo of the month on our December page.
December 22nd, 2008
Wow time sure does move fast! Here we are on the 22nd day of December, and guess what that means? It means that the finalists for the Holiday Photo Contest are up on the contests page and ready for you to vote on your favorite!
We got so many great entries, now it's time to determine the winner of this year's contest.
Meanwhile, Pleasantville is covered in a thick blanket of snow, but it isn't stopping everyone from bustling around town square with their last-minute Christmas shopping. Even Peder Larson has a Christmas list and he has spent a lot of time out in the storm shelter working on secrets for his family members.
The Larsons just put up their tree last night, and it is almost sagging to the ground under the weight of the creative ornaments that they tied to its branches. The family has decided to hole up in their cabin and wait out the blizzard around their home, since they already have a good foot of snow outside (which, for a doll, is quite a lot of snow!)
December 23rd, 2008
Christmas is coming soon! And now I present to you the full history of Our Dolls Christmas-related photo stories. There will be a new one soon, but for now you can enjoy the pictures of Christmases past.

First, I have updated the last few doll houses pages with Christmas pictures:
The DeVecamont's Apartment

The Montoyas' Rancho
I also have the first half of a Christmas photo story featuring the Larson family, which will be, of course, updated after Christmas has actually happened and we get those pictures. I also now have a photo story including the residents of town square, written by Solana. It will also be finished later on. But for now, enjoy!
Christmas with the Larsons
Christmas in Town Square
And we also have to announce the winner of our Holiday Photo Contest! I am pleased to announce that Lydia has won the contest and will be recieving a special prize from Our Dolls. You can see what the prize is as well as Lydia's award-winning picture over on the Contests page.
Congratulations to our winner, and to every single person who entered- the photos were all beautiful!
