Goodness, what excitement! I just woke up from sleeping for the last few days to find our whole property flooded! It certainly justifies our decision to move onto Pleasant hill. We're nice and toasty inside our cabin while the rest of the town is shivering on their roofs. We rescued Mr. Wickon (well, Kaya did) who was swimming around in makeshift swim trunks trying unsuccessfully to save bits of laundry that were floating away. The silly man is now shivering by our fire with a hot bowl of soup and a sour expression.
Apparently he had some ludicrous notion that he was saving the town single-handedly and was thwarted in the attempt. I am very sorry to hear of the recent discord in your family. I hope everything is back to normal by now. I have to say that Anders is being very lazy at the moment - all he had to say when I informed him of the flood was a wish for a pancake breakfast. Hmph!
It is so nice to have all the warm blankets that your girls knitted. They are delightfully fuzzy and warm. Britta is sulking because she hasn't been able to have a birthday party yet. I hesitated to let her have one because she hasn't been very helpful to me lately. A birthday party doesn't seem quite deserved... and for some reason I'm not very partial to the idea of Rachel Merriman coming over and turning her little nose up at my housekeeping. Britta has her heart set on having Rachel come though! I really don't approve of the way she is affected by Rachel. Do you have any advice?
