This is the first of Felicity's gowns that she needs for her trip to the court of England for her presentation. Although it is fancier than any gown she had created before, it is just a writing gown.
All of the Merriman children were instructed to wear pristine white Summer dresses to the county fair, which meant that Felicity had a chance to make a beautiful new white dress. She used red ribbon, a little clump of pretty red roses, and large white lace to decorate her dress.
This is Felicity's second ballgown, but it is the first one that she made with wing hoops to the sides like the ones that Lily wears. It is very elegant, and she hopes to wear it to court.
Lily Merriman made this work dress for Felicity after she saw her daughter accidentally wearing one of her nice dresses while stuffing a goose. She resolved to supply Felicity with an elegant-looking work gown that wouldn't be ruined by feathers and stuffing.
This dress was made for an auction basket at our dance school's feis (the gaelic name for an Irish dance competition). It was bought by our good friend Rowan Williams, and her doll, Felicity.
This is one of Felicity's favorite dinner dresses. It looks very elegant with her bright red hair.
Felicity needed a new dinner dress and this yellow fabric had been waiting hopefully around the house by her Mother's sewing basket. She worked on it at several sewing circles and now she has this lovely dress to wear to the General Store and to dinner with her family.
This is one of Felicity's favorite work dresses, because while it is a very simple cut and design, the green colors help bring out her eyes.
Felicity has been thinking about making this dress for years now, and she finally put together the patterns and figured out the design in order to make it happen. It has a huge skirt and is very finely decorated, so it stands out in every crowd that she wears it in.
Before she made her new ballgown, this is the dress that Felicity always wore when guests came over. She really dislikes wearing this dress because the colors don't entirely match, and they don't look very good with her hair.
This dress was a Christmas present from Mrs. Merriman to Felicity in December, 2006. Felicity needed good work dresses without too much extra fabric or decorations to get in the way of cooking, and this one works perfectly.
Another gift from her mother, this dress is one of Felicity's nicest dinner dresses.
