It was so great to get your package, thank you for sending it! I will definitely read them all with Peder sometime soon.
He loves his new sweater and he is wearing it right now! He got a little mini wagon and he's been making it travel west over some sugar-bag mountains on Kirsten's bed. It's so cute! He's starting to talk sometimes now, too.
We just finally took our Christmas tree down and the house is getting back to normal. I had to do the food rounds just now because I got a complaint from Mrs. Wickon.
How is the sweet shop doing?

Woah! I have not written since 12.31.06!! Sorry about that, a bunch of my letters fell behind my desk, and so I only found them today! Luckily none of them were bills, otherwise I would have been in big trouble!! The books you sent me were delectable as usual. I liked the one where Dopey gets lost and the other six dwarves go to try and save him especially! Did Peder like the sweater you have been working on? It is soooo cute!! Well I am sending three new books.

It’s not so cold now actually, it’s about 5 degrees, so the river is running again under the ice. That’s annoying because I really wanted to go ice skating and now it’s a bit more dangerous. I really like all the books you let me borrow! It’s nice to read some new things for a change. Did you like mine? What did you get for Christmas? Are you excited about the New Year’s Ball?
Love, Anna L.

I only have some books that you could borrow but I will send a couple with this letter. The Masked Ball was really fun! I am glad that Suzanne invited our familia this year. Mama is completely ignoring her invitations to tea! She said she would try to go this afternoon but I doubt she will end up going. How is pequino Pedro? I was thinking of starting to embroider things, and I think if I ever have enough time I would be able to do it, but I certainly don’t have time, well today at least. J Have you gotten snow yet? It must be super freezo down there! It is 47 degrees, it is so freezo! I am shivering down to my toesies! Well, don’t freeze!

Oooh the hope chest sounds like a lot of work, but really neat to have your own little house in a trunk that you can just bring along with you anywhere.
I bet I would like goats. They sound just like little piggies, because they are very warm and fuzzy too. Except they go “keechhgg” instead of “maaaaa….”! Yes! I have a lot of books that you could borrow! I’ll send them with this letter. (Some of them, anyway!) Trading day is one of my favorite times of the year! It is so much fun to have all of you down here at our cabin. It’ll seem really cold here when you leave. L
Send a book back, por favor! Are you doing any sewing? Mama says I get to start some soon,-yay!
Love, luvsies! Anna L.

To make a hope chest takes tons of work! I think it would take me six years! What you do is make everything you’re gonna need when you have your own house, you make napkins, plates, candles, clothes, recipes, etc. It takes forever! And then when suitors come a-calling you show them your hope chest, and if it’s good enough quality then he asks for your hand in marriage. That’s why I don’t want to do it because it takes a lot of work and I’m not even sure it’s worth it!
Do you like goats? I bet you would! They are so cute!! Mine is all fluffy and fuzzy. I love cuddling with it. And I love its little maaaaa! Baby Peder is so cute. I can just imagine him saying “ta!!” “ta!!” how cute!
I could ask Heather if I could send some of her books to you, I am sure she wouldn’t mind. Do you think we could exchange so Heather has something to read? And then when we finish reading them we can send them back. A library sounds like a good idea! No, I am happy to say that we don’t have trolls on our rancho. J Do you know what trading day is? I have never been down to your new cabin so I’m really excited! How’s cute baby Peder?
August 10th, 2008
What do you have to do for your hope chest thingy? I like working out in the barn with all the little animals so I wouldn’t mind too much of that kind of work. Baby Peder learned how to say “ta” today, which means “tomatoes.” He just can’t remember that much! Heehee! Do you have any good books I could borrow? I’ve gone and read all of mine too many times now. I need some new ones. I wish there was a library. Maybe I’ll start one, wouldn’t that be coolio?
Do you have trolls on your farm? Ours come out at night so we have to put our dahla horses out to keep them away.

Right now I am roasting avacados and chilis with pepper in the horno for the guacamole Mama wants to make for lunch tomorrow. How is writing to my sister? She has pretty big handwriting! I love this cutie-pie stationary! I really don’t want to grow up ‘cause then Mama says I’ll have to start my hope chest, which takes a lot of work! Well the avacados are smoking now so I’d better go. How’s your life?

We DO eat fish all the time! In fact, we trade Kaya to catch us salmon because the river is just jumping with it all right now! Splishy-splashy! I’m sorry that Antonio is feeling bad. You can tell him that our family cares about him, but that he should listen to his mommy. I just made a TRIPLE batch of bread because the food stand is empty! How is your life?
Love, Anna L.

Do you eat fish a lot? The only fish recipe we have are fish tacos, they are really good! Francisca is teaching me and my sisters Spanish from her school text book, it’s a really fun language! Uh oh! Rebecca just got into big trouble with Papa! Right now Papa is sewing me a nice pair of orange socks, and I can’t wait to put them on my cold little feetsies! I am definitely not lucky to have Juan and Antonio! Since Antonio’s head fell off all he has been doing is talking about food. Every single minute he says “I’m hungry! Nobody ever cares for me!” and after a while it gets really, really annoying! Well I’ve got to go try on my new socks!

I’m very sorry that I have taken so long to write back to you, Clara! I finally have time right now while I wait to flip the bacon for the potato soup I’m makin’ to bring to the Valentine’s Day party. It smells pretty yummy! Your new name is very pretty! I only have Anna Sophia Larson=3. Oh well, I like them because they’re both my grandmas’ names. Aren’t they pretty? How is your family? What are your favorite things to do lately? I still really like baking, but I’ve started doing a lot of cooking, too, because Kirsten doesn’t like to. But I love it! My sisters and I are also working on a patchwork quilt for our little baby that is coming in 2 months now! I hope it’s a little boy. It would be so much fun to have a little brother to play with! You’re lucky you’ve got Juan and Antonio!
Write back soon, Anna L.

Right now my hands are really tired cause I have been stringing dyed whool all day and it smells of eggs and plants. P.U! Gross! I can’t wait for Nafy’s boofy! It’ll be so cool! Right nowCambria just came and I have to give up my room for her. L Have you gone through your stuff yet? I have. Hey! My chores are to do the dishes too! Except I share that chore with Rebecca. I can’t wait for Halloween! I got out of the hosbible last week, good as new. Is the guy with the patch over his eyes still wandering around town? Well, I should go help wind up the dyed yarn!
Ttfn, tat a for now!

That’s fun that you get new chores sometimes. I always have the same ones except when something happens like sheet-washing day. Do you have sheet-washing day at the pueblo? That’d be cool up there cuz it’s actually warm enough to like it when you get wet. It’s a little too cold for that down here. I like doing the dishes too! That’s my favorite chore! I don’t know why Nafy doesn’t like it. Do you get out of the hospital soon?

OMG!! I haven’t written to you in TWO months! Eeww!! She squished a wolf? Yucko! P.U. I bet it smelled bad, did it? We got new chores a couple weeks ago, and I have to do the dishes, yay! I can do the Olympic fork dive competition! Fun! When should we play cards? I’ll have to ask my Mama but we’ll see! Xoxoxo!
