Excuse me! I will continue talking in Spanish for as long as I wish to! Why don't you stop saying "aye" and stuff! We live in Pleasantville now! HA.
Sorry, I don't know how to play the "piano forte," what's that? I spend most of my time curing sick or injured people, so I don't have much time to set the piano on fire or whatever.

Aye, your point seems to be quite a valid one. Now that you reside here in a British country, it would be most beneficial to all, yourself in particular, for you to resist using the Spanish language any longer.
Why yes, I consider myself quite proficient in the art of playing the mandolin. I should like to hear you play the pianoforte if we are ever together at a gathering. Your elder sister, Francisca, played tolerably well on the piano a few evenings ago when she attended a dinner party of mine. Her singing could certainly be improved upon, but that is rather another matter.
Why have you not come calling of late? I hope your family is in good health.

Well, perhaps I should refrain from speaking Spanish at all in my letters to you since you cannot understand and dislike it so much. I have not had time to begin my ballgown yet. My higher priorities must come first. I am sure that your younger brother enjoyed the Masked Ball feast very much since he enjoys food so much. Do you play any musical instruments? I play the piano and tambourine.

It is no fault of mine that I mistook a Spanish word you mentioned to mean something similar in the English language. Apparently you do not realize that I have not learned to speak in Spanish, and that I do not intend to do so.
Shall you be wearing your new gown at the Masked Ball in a few months time? I heard that Suzanne is hiring a carriage in which to transport guests to the ball. It should be a very fine event as it has been previously. I suppose your nephews are eagerly awaiting the banquet?
Sincerely, Felicity M.

I am surprised to hear that your nephews have been acting like beans. How does one accomplish that? It seems to me that a bean's only purpose in life is to be cooked and consumed by their purchaser. Is this what Juan and Antonio goal for in life? (I assume you were speaking metaphorically, of course.) They wish only to be as those around them... one bean to another? To follow the pattern that has been created by thousands before them? As I said, this rather surprises me that they should wish to conform in this way. How wonderful for you! I imagine you will have a much easier time with them now.
It is with gratitude that I inform you that your advice on feeding William to cease his pestering has met with a degree of success! I fixed a bowl of ham and gravy with biscuits for him, which he lapped up like the canine he is. However, he has now taken to calling me an "angel" and I have not heard a single complaint! Nevertheless, it HAS only been an hour...
The way you describe your "bell" dress still strikes me as rather odd. Are not all gowns designed in the shape of a bell, more or less? As the skirt is obviously the fuller part of the ensemble? Perhaps it would be beneficial for you to sketch a drawing of it for me and enclose it in your forthcoming missive. Hoping your family is in good health,

Well I shall try not to take offense for your strange motives in copying my writing for spite. However, I do believe that it would be beneficial to both of us if you were to make your meaning more clear in the future.
How long does this dreadful flood season last? I rather despise being trapped inside the house for long periods of time... especially when there are so many projects to be done. What do you do when you are flooded in? 'Tis a pity you cannot do the laundry during that time.
We are having fish for supper because if you can believe it that was all the meat left at the food stand! It really is quite astonishing.
Well, I must go practice my flute. All the best to you and your family,
